Solitary Oak Leafminer

Solitary Oak Leafminer (Cameraria hamadyadella) - These tiny caterpillars feed between the outer layers of oak leaves. They are very small and have a pattern that is akin to the rattle of a rattlesnake. While feeding on all oaks, they are observed to be more prevalent on white oak species. Common signs of injury include leaf wilting, defoliation, black splotches, localized mining, or lesions.
