Winter Burn - Evergreen trees (esp. pines, cedars, and junipers) can fall victim to winterburn during colder seasons of the year. Since these trees retain their needles/scales/leaves in the winter, they are suceceptible to losing moisture when they are exposed to intense sun or harsh wind. Desecation and browning eventually occurs as roots struggle to resupply the lost water, and the tree will begin to shed the dying leaves.
