Greenstriped%20Mapleworm (Dryocampa%20rubicunda) - The%20insect%20overwinters%20as%20a%20pupa%20in%20the%20soil.%20Moths%20emerge%20from%20May%20through%20July.%20Moths%20have%20woolly%20bodies%20and%20a%20wingspan%20of%201%203%2F4%20to%202%C2%BD%20inches.%20The%20forewing%20is%20rose-pink%20on%20the%20inner%20and%20outer%20borders%20with%20a%20yellow%20band%20between.%20Hind-wings%20may%20be%20pure%20yellow%20or%20yellow%20with%20pink%20streaks%20throughout.%20After%20mating%2C%20female%20moths%20lay%20pale%20green%20eggs%20in%20masses%20on%20the%20undersides%20of%20the%20leaves.%20The%20eggs%20hatch%20in%20approximately%2010%20days.%20Larvae%20are%201%C2%BD%20inches%20long%20when%20full%20grown%2C%20having%20cherry-red%20heads%20and%20pale%20yellow-green%20bodies.%20Eight%20light%20and%20seven%20dark%20green%20stripes%20alternately%20run%20the%20entire%20length%20of%20the%20body.%20Two%20prominent%2C%20slender%2C%20horn-like%20projections%20are%20located%20on%20the%20top%20of%20the%20second%20segment%20behind%20the%20head.%20There%20are%20two%20rows%20of%20short%20spines%20on%20both%20sides%20of%20the%20body.%20Larvae%20feed%20in%20groups%20on%20the%20undersides%20of%20leaves%20when%20young.%20As%20they%20mature%2C%20they%20feed%20singly%20on%20the%20foliage.%20Larvae%20become%20full-grown%20in%20about%20a%20month.%20They%20then%20crawl%20to%20the%20ground%20where%20pupation%20takes%20place.%0D%0Aof%20the%20second%20segmen
