Pinkstriped%20Oakworm (Anisota%20virginiensis) - The%20larvae%20are%20gray%2C%20green%2C%20or%20tan%20with%20dull%20brown%2C%20yellow%2C%20or%20light%20pink%20stripes.%20The%20insect%E2%80%99s%20head%20is%20larger%20than%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20body.%20A%20pair%20of%20black%2C%20fleshy%20filaments%20protrude%20outwards%20from%20just%20behind%20the%20head.%20The%20abdomen%20is%20covered%20in%20scales.%20The%20inside%20of%20the%20mouth%20is%20yellow.%20Each%20leg%20is%20partially%20translucent.%20The%20pupa%20are%20dark%20brown.The%20adult%20females%20are%20larger%20than%20the%20males.%20The%20female%E2%80%99s%20body%20is%20covered%20in%20a%20bevy%20of%20fine%2C%20bright%20orange%20to%20yellow%20hair-like%20structures.%20The%20wings%20are%20covered%20in%20thin%20scales%2C%20and%20are%20nearly%20transparent.%20A%20thick%20band%20of%20pink%20or%20dull%20purple%20is%20apparent%20at%20the%20wing%20margins.%20The%20male%E2%80%99s%20torso%20is%20a%20purple-brown%20color.%20The%20hindwing%20is%20splotched%20with%20red.%20Both%20genders%20feature%20a%20characteristic%20white%20cell%20spot%20in%20the%20center%20of%20the%20forewing.
