Pine%20Tip%20Moth (Rhyacionia%20spp) - Pine%20tip%20moths%20are%20a%20major%20forest%20pest%20in%20the%20United%20States.%20Their%20range%20stretches%20as%20far%20as%20Massachusetts%20to%20the%20north%2C%20Florida%20to%20the%20south%2C%20and%20Texas%20to%20the%20west.%20It%20has%20recently%20be%20introduced%20into%20California%20where%20it%20has%20been%20notorious%20for%20infesting%20Christmas%20tree%20farms.%20In%20Texas%2C%20common%20host%20plants%20include%20members%20of%20the%20yellow%20pine%20family%20such%20as%20loblolly%2C%20shortleaf%2C%20longleaf%2C%20and%20slash%20pines.%20As%20its%20name%20suggests%2C%20the%20moth%20primarily%20attacks%20growth%20shoots%20on%20the%20tips%20of%20pine%20branches%20and%20stems.%20This%20can%20have%20a%20serious%20impact%20on%20growth%2C%20reproduction%2C%20and%20overall%20health%20of%20pine%20trees.
