Anthracnose%20%28Sycamore%29 (Discula%20platani) - Anthracnose%20diseases%20are%20caused%20by%20a%20group%20of%20morphologically%20similar%20fungi%20that%20produce%20cushion-shaped%20fruiting%20structures.%20Symptoms%20of%20anthracnose%20vary%20considerably%20from%20host%20to%20host.%20Most%20anthracnose%20fungi%20cause%20blotchy%2C%20necrotic%20spots%20on%20leaves%20associated%20with%20veins%20and%20sometimes%20cause%20leaf%20distortion%20and%20premature%20defoliation.%20On%20oak%20and%20sycamore%2C%20the%20disease%20also%20impacts%20twigs%2C%20shoots%2C%20buds%2C%20and%20fruits%20and%20occasionally%20causes%20stem%20cankers%20and%20brooming.%20When%20leaves%20are%20infected%20in%20early%20spring%2C%20they%20often%20turn%20black%20and%20may%20be%20confused%20with%20frost-damaged%20leaves.
