Bacterial%20Leaf%20Scorch (Xylella%20fastidiosa%20subsp.%20Multiplex) - Bacterial%20leaf%20scorch%20%28BLS%29%20is%20a%20systemic%20disease%20caused%20by%20the%20bacterium%20Xylella%20fastidiosa%2C%20which%20invades%20the%20xylem%20%28water%20and%20nutrient%20conducting%20tissues%29%20of%20susceptible%20trees.%20It%20is%20most%20commonly%20seen%20in%20pin%2C%20red%2C%20shingle%2C%20bur%2C%20and%20white%20oaks%2C%20but%20can%20also%20affect%20elm%2C%20oak%2C%20sycamore%2C%20mulberry%2C%20sweetgum%2C%20sugar%20maple%2C%20and%20red%20maple.%20Xylem-feeding%20leafhoppers%20and%20spittlebugs%20spread%20the%20bacterium%20from%20tree%20to%20tree.%20Transmission%20between%20trees%20through%20root%20grafts%20has%20also%20been%20reported.%20There%20is%20no%20cure%20for%20this%20disease%3B%20it%20is%20chronic%20and%20potentially%20fatal.
