Botryosphaeria Canker

Botryosphaeria Canker (Botryosphaeria spp) - This fungus causes botryosphaeria canker in a wide variety of hardwood trees throughout the South. Sometimes call “bot canker”, this pathogen is opportunistic meaning it affects primarily trees and plants that are stressed or wounded. Infected trees will signs of wilting, dieback, or crown reduction. Cankers will additionally be present on stems and branches throughout the canopy.
